        Holidays in Apulia

Discover the south-east coast of Italy

Countryside, villages and towns which your eyes will never tire of; fragrances that will remain with you for long after; rhythms that won’t let you go — a holiday in Apulia is feast for the senses. Be enchanted and inspired by southern Italy!

The region of Apulia — countryside between two seas

La Puglia, as the region is known in Italian, lies at the outermost south-eastern point of Italy and is among the most popular holiday destinations of Italy’s boot. Here on the fine, white, sandy beaches of the Adriatic and Ionian Sea, you can swim in crystal-clear azure-blue water from April to October and marvel at the evidence of hundreds of years of culture. The most important tourism centers of Apulia include both the peninsulas of Gargano and Salento as well as the trulli region around Alberobello.

        Gargano — the spur

Gargano lies in the north of Apulia and is also known as the spur of the boot. The majority of the region is part of the Alberobello national park, which is dominated by dense beech and pine tree forests, as well as an impressive karst landscape. Built high up on karst cliffs extending over the sea are the two pearls of the Gargano: Peschici and Vieste. They are guaranteed to enchant you and never fail to deliver breathtakingly beautiful views. An unforgettable experience during your holiday in Apulia also includes an excursion to the Tremiti islands lying off the coast and a paradise of white rocks and Mediterranean vegetation.

        Salento — the heel

In contrast, deep in the south is Salento, a Mecca for sun worshippers, water sports enthusiasts, culture lovers and connoisseurs. Among the most beautiful towns of the heel are the baroque town of Lecce, built from white tufa rock, and the medieval town of Otranto. Salento is primarily famous for its traditional rhythmic music styles Pizzica and Tarantella, which you will not escape during your holiday in Apulia. The highpoint of the musical year takes place here in August during the “La Notte della Taranta” music festival in which the picturesque village squares of Salento transform into vibrant dance floors at sunset.
