LOCATION AND TRAVEL INFORMATION (TRANSFER)
The club grounds encompass the 107,000 sqm Funamadua Island of the Gaaf Alif Atoll in the south of the Maldives. Located approximately 60 km north of the equator, the club is surrounded by a spectacular, virtually untouched coral reef (the house reef is 20 to 200 m away).
LOCATION AT A GLANCE:

- Surrounded by a spectacular, almost untouched coral reef (house reef approx. 20-200 m away)
- Surrounded by beautiful nature, quiet
DISTANCES:

- Equator: approx. 60 km
- House reef: approx. 20-200 m
- Transfer time: approx. 1 hour and 40 minutes (70 minutes by plane from Malé to Kadhedhoo Island and 30 minutes by speedboat from there to the club)
TRANSFER INFORMATION:
The transfer by plane and by speedboat to/from the Club is not included in the total price.
After arrival at the international airport in Malé, the flight continues with the local airline to Kadhedhoo Airport (flight time approx. 70 minutes) with Dornier-228 (17 seats) or Dash-8/200 or 300 (50 seats) small aircraft. From there, continue by speedboat to the ROBINSON MALDIVES (transfer time approx. 30 minutes). The flights to/from Kadhedhoo Airport depend on the arrival and departure time of the domestic flight with the local airline in Malé. As the transfer of flights arriving one after the other takes place together, waiting times of up to approx. 5 hours must be expected at Malé airport on the outward journey, possibly longer in bad weather. For the return journey, the departure from Kadhedhoo Airport is usually approx. 4-5 hours before the international flight from Malé, in individual cases earlier in case of bad weather conditions.
For waiting times during arrival and departure, the Business Class Lounge at the Domestic Airport is available with tea, coffee, soft drinks, small pastries, local magazines and internet (no charge). In case of late arrival to the Maldives (approx. from 23:00) or bad weather conditions, a transfer from/to Malé cannot be arranged, so an overnight stay in a transfer hotel on the capital island of Malé will take place.
Please note that your luggage must be transported on the transfer flight to Kaadedhdhoo and also on the speedboat. For this reason, the maximum free baggage allowance is 20 kg + 5 kg hand luggage measuring 50x30x17cm (this also applies to guests travelling in First Class, Business Class or Comfort Class). The transport of up to 10 kg of sports equipment per guest, such as diving equipment, is free of charge with the domestic airline "Maldivian" and on the speedboat. Excess baggage will be taken along if possible or transported separately (costs approx. 7 USD per kg, payment is made locally in USD). This must be arranged in advance with the club.

FAQ
- Where is ROBINSON MALDIVES located, and how do guests reach the island?
ROBINSON MALDIVES is located on Funamadua Island in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, one of the southernmost atolls of the Maldives. Reaching the island involves a domestic flight from Malé followed by a short boat transfer. The remote southern location offers a more untouched and less frequented Maldivian setting.
- Is ROBINSON MALDIVES better suited for couples, solo travellers or families?
ROBINSON MALDIVES is primarily suited to couples and solo travellers seeking a calm, adult-oriented island experience. The atmosphere focuses on relaxation, nature and shared activities rather than family-focused infrastructure. Guests looking for tranquillity and space tend to feel particularly well matched to this club.
- What makes the house reef at ROBINSON MALDIVES special compared to other Maldivian resorts?
The island has direct access to a vibrant house reef that can be reached straight from the beach. Snorkelling is possible without boat transfers, allowing guests to encounter coral formations and marine life very close to shore. Conditions vary seasonally, but underwater access remains a defining feature of the island.
- What types of activities are typically associated with ROBINSON MALDIVES?
ROBINSON MALDIVES is strongly associated with water-based and nature-focused activities such as snorkelling, diving and relaxing beach time. On land, the island’s compact size supports a slow rhythm centred around the lagoon and communal areas. Activity options are designed to complement the natural surroundings rather than dominate the stay.
- When is the best time of year to visit ROBINSON MALDIVES in terms of climate and sea conditions?
The Maldives offer warm temperatures year-round, but sea conditions vary by season. From late autumn to spring, calmer seas and clearer visibility are more common in this southern atoll. Weather patterns can shift, so choosing a period often depends on individual priorities such as snorkelling or general beach time.
- How secluded does ROBINSON MALDIVES feel compared to other Maldivian islands?
ROBINSON MALDIVES feels distinctly secluded due to its southern atoll location and single-island layout. There are no nearby inhabited islands in direct view, which enhances the sense of isolation. Orientation details and island layout can be reviewed once in the ROBINSON App, if deeper planning is needed.
