Nordic Walking: the Finnish trend sport

What is Nordic Walking actually?

Nordic Walking is an endurance sport that can be practised by untrained people as well as ambitious athletes. The training is moderate and at the same time effective and involves only a very low risk of injury. The great thing about it is that on a Nordic Walking holiday you are right in the middle of nature.

How does Nordic Walking work?

The trendy sport of Nordic Walking originated in professional cross-country skiing. As a whole-body sport, Nordic Walking combines fast walking with the use of two poles. This transforms "normal" walking into a sport that also engages the upper body muscles. For the "correct" use of the arms, you must make the arms long and bring the elbows clearly in front of and behind the upper body. The movement should be similar to that of a cross-country skier on skis.
