Die\u00a0Hauptstadt der Kapverden ist die Stadt Praia auf der Insel Santiago. Die Kapverden verteilen sich auf 15 Inseln und weitere kleine Eilande, 9 davon bewohnt. Die h\u00f6chste Erhebung auf den Kapverden ist der ebenm\u00e4\u00dfige Vulkankegel des Pico do Fogo auf der Insel Fogo \u00e0 2829 Meter. Die Temperaturunterschiede zwischen Tag und Nacht sind gering und liegen meist um 5 \u00b0C. Die Luftfeuchtigkeit ist ganzj\u00e4hrig relativ hoch (ca. 70 %)- und die Tagestemperaturen liegen das ganze Jahr \u00fcber zwischen 23 und 30 \u00b0C. Die durchschnittliche Niederschlagsmenge liegt meist nur bei 100 bis 200 mm. Die h\u00f6chste Niederschlagsmenge f\u00e4llt von August bis November.
